That’s All I Need to Know!

It’s been an unique time here at BCAT. I could actually call this place my job for seven weeks. That’s pretty cool. Today I got in at 11 and started working on brushing up the video. I contributed a lot to the production just as all of us did. Thanks to Lyra and Carlos, the project will be at it’s best when aired.

It sucks that work ends tomorrow. The last day will be housed in Harlem. It seems like I just can’t get away from that place. Harlem, I guess is my home when you mention journalism. Speaking of Harlem, their awards ceremony is today at the CUNY Graduate School for Journalism. Anyhow, I will miss my position here. but I’m not too sad to be going, because I know this isn’t the end for me AT ALL. I’ve enjoyed the diversity of personalities I’ve encountered here. I can def. say BCAT is unique and I’ve learned a lot.

all the things that we’ve did here were fun. I’m so glad I didn’t get stuck with boring clerical work from SYEP. Next year, it’ll be BCAT or maybe MNN. Who am I kidding, all they do is edit, BCAT DEF. next year.

Last two days of our summer internship

It has been a long and very good experience, here interning for the summer youth program. Now, we are only here for 2 more days and we are gone. Their would be a lot of memories here because I was taught a lot. Leaving here i now know how to work an camera, how to produce, and edit. Since, when i get older I would hope to be very successful in the entertainment industry. I would always remember how I started and where I learn all this from, and if anyone were to ask me where did I learn all of my great talent, I would tell them, go to Bcat (Brooklyn Community Access television) and be a intern and you will learn everything that you need to learn. Interning here has went by kinda quick but, now school is in about two weeks, and i would be in a new school, making new friends, and doing hard work, at Washington Irving in Manhattan . Hopefully it’s a good school. Later.

It’s AMAZING!

Today I’m pretty excited to get started. We’re going to be editing the piece and finalizing it. I’m apart of edit crew, which consists of me and Jaryd. However, the others will be able to include their ideas as well. As of now, we’re waiting for Danielle to finish with her interview and then we’ll get started. I think that editing is what I want to pursue. I just like the idea of inventing a project and as Carlos would say “telling a story.” IT’S AMAZING!

OMG! MNN!

Today our fellow youth came from MNN to visit us. The interns from Manhattan Neighborhood Network came in for a round table discussion and a tour of our studios. They came in and we gave them a tour. We showed them the main, mini and training studios, as well as the media lab and all the cool people that work here. We showed them the edit suites and they were amazed that we use Avid Xpress Pro. The guys informed us that they use Final Cut Pro and I found that cool.

The kids there were really interesting. They’re having a screening on Friday at Magic Johnson theater and we’re gonna be there. It’s gonna be really cool. It was so fun to actually meet those guys and to learn about them. They told us that they don’t do much at MNN, but edit. I found that odd, but I guess they’re not as lucky as us.

MNN COMES TO VISIT!!!!

this week is the last week of work and i really can’t believe it!! today was really a lot of fun, even more that i had first anticipated, we had everything planed out for when MNN came but then once they came it kind of got a bit hectic. I was worried for a little bit that they weren’t going to pull it off but once we got settled i figured that hopefully everything will turn out fine. I was on camera 1 where i have been for basically my whole internship, by now i am very comfortable with using the camera and im not as nervous as i used to be which has shown how much the internship actually helped in the long run. the show i think went great both tiffany and jazz were excellent interviewers and this is just one of the last pieces of the big puzzle called TOPS.

Last few days of our summer internship

This week would probably be the best even though, this whole internship would cool and a great experience. I just can’t wait to get paid because I gotta go back to school shopping. We only have like three more days, and i would remember this place but, after a while it all would be gone and out of my head. So, hopefully this week goes by fast because after that I’m free.

I really dnt like blogging i think this stuff is mad wack..but i have to do it cuz its part of my job..well today the MNN interns come in so we gotta show them around and interview them..we got lunch early so im about to leave..also yesterday was our last day of workshop and we now have 4 days of work left..im happy but at the same time i dnt wanna leave cuz the job isnt bad at all but i need a break from skool and work for the rest of the summer…Later

heyyy

well today my schedule is a bit weird, i had something to do early on the day because i had things to do with the family and friends but i didn’t want to take a total day off since i didn’t come to work on Monday due to a sore throat and tiredness. So today I came in at about 4 and i was suppossed to do a shoot but turns out the person is not going to be here so im pretty sure its canceled, go figure with my luck, but hopfully i can stay a bit and maybe do some editing.
